12 strips bacon
1 cup Gruyere cheese, grated
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
4 eggs
2 cups light cream
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450º. Line pie shell with pastry and place in oven for 5 minutes to make bottom crispy. Saute bacon until crisp and then crumble and sprinkle with cheese over bottom of partially baked shell. Combine eggs, cream, nutmeg, salt and pepper and pour over bacon and cheese. Bake at 450º for 15 minutes and then reduce oven to 325º and bake for 15 more minutes. Test custard with silver knife for doneness. If firm at the center, it's done.

Also great with cheddar cheese and swiss cheese. Try turkey bacon or straight vegetables. Broccoli or asparagus are delicious!

Baking note: cover with foil while baking if the top is getting too brown
