3 c. buttermilk-room temp
3 pkg yeast
2 T. warm water
3 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp soda
3 beaten eggs
2 tsp. salt
5 c. flour
1/2 c. crisco

Directions:
Directions:
Mix buttermilk, yeast, warm water, and 3 c. flour together and let stand 1/2 hour or until double.
Add sugar, soda, beaten eggs, salt, flour and crisco.
Knead on floured board (until you can handle it). Put in large bowl and store in fridge (covered) until ready to use it. Pinch off what you want, roll out and shape as desired. Allow 2-3 hrs to rise. Bake at 365º for about 12 minutes. After done baking, softly brush tops with melted butter. Note - To make own buttermilk:
Stir 1 cup of milk with 1 tbsp lemon juice OR 1 tbsp vinegar per cup of milk needed. Let stand 5 minutes.
