5 c. plain flour
3/4 c. shortening
1 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
3 t. baking powder
3 T. sugar
1 yeast cake dissolved in 1/2 c. water
2 c. buttermilk or 2 c. milk with 1 T. lemon juice or vinegar

Sift dry ingredients, then put in milk and yeast. Roll to 1/2" thickness, bake at 400º for 12 minutes.
