Cherry Cobbler Recipe

2 c sweetened cherries.
1 T Sugar
1 c Sugar
tsp Salt
1/3 c Shortening
c Milk
1 well beaten Egg
3 tsp Baking Powder
2 T Sugar
Add 1 T quick cooking tapioca.

Arrange cherries in greased 8 x 8 x 2 pan.
Sprinkle with mixture of 1c sugar .
Heat at 400 in oven while preparing
Sift together baking powder, 1 T sugar, and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles course crumbs.
Add milk and egg at once; stir until just moistened.
Spread dough over hot Cherries .
Sprinkle with 2 T. sugar.
Bake at 400 for 35-40 min.
