3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup chopped slivered almonds
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp all spice
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 large egg
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 (11oz) can mandarin orange segments, drained and chopped

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl combine both flours, sugar, almonds, baking powder, salt, allspice and nutmeg. In small bowl, with fork, beat milk, butter, egg and almond extract until well mixed. Add milk mixture and stir lightly just until moistened. Gently stir mandarin oranges into the mixture or batter. Divide batter into 12 greased muffin tins. Top batter with a sprinkle of sugar, cinnamon and almonds. Bake at 400º for 20 minutes or until golden. Cool in pan 5 minutes.
