4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
2 eggs beaten
1/2 c. milk
2 tsp. vanilla or 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 tsp. lemon (I use 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 tsp. anise)

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, blend flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Add butter and blend by rubbing mixture between your hand until mixture is fine like pie crust. Then in a medium bowl beat eggs thoroughly. Add milk and vanilla to mixture gradually until smooth.

Then take a little ball at a time; roll into a 3 inch cylinder. Lightly grease cookie sheet with shortening. Bake at 375º for 12 minutes.
