2 c flour
2 t soda
1 t salt
1 t cinnamon
1/2 t cloves
1 t nutmeg
1 c seedless raisins
1/2 c shortening
1 c sugar
1 egg
1/2 c chopped nuts
1 1/2 c sweetened applesauce
Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, measure, sift again with soda, salt & spices.
Cream shortening, add sugar gradually, creaming until light & fluffy. Add unbeaten egg, beat until well blended.
Add raisins & nuts; mix well.
Add flour mixture alternating with applesauce, adding a small amount at a time, beginning and ending with flour. Beat until smooth after each addition.
