1½ - 2 lb. frozen hash browns
2 c. sour cream
½ c. onion, chopped
2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1 can cream of mushroom soup
½ tsp. salt
TT pepper
8 T. butter (1 stick), melted
2 c. corn flakes, slightly crushed

Butter 9 X 13-inch baking dish. Break up frozen hash browns into baking dish. Mix sour cream, onion, cheese, soup, salt , pepper and half of the melted butter. Pour over potatoes. Top with corn flakes and drizzle with remaining melted butter.

Bake in a 350ºF oven for 1 hour.

This dish may be assembled, with the exception of the toppings, the day before and baked just before your friends arrive.
