Fresh Okra
Corn Meal
Flour
Salt
Crisco

Directions:
Rinse the Okra and slice into a bowl. Sprinkle with flour and then corn meal. Use your hands to mix it well. Heat your skillet and add enough crisco so when it has melted, you have about a 1/4" in the bottom of skillet. Add the okra, cover and cook on medium to medium high heat. Take your spatula and turn it over as it cooks. When it has softened and browned, remove the lid and salt lightly, continue to cook for about five minutes.

Personal Notes:
My all time favorite!!! The summer that I was taking treatment for my cancer, Mom stayed at the house with us and she would fix this for me everyday that she could get it. I could eat a skillet full and still love it so.
