Soft Pretzels Recipe

1 envelope dry yeast
1 cups lukewarm water
tblsps salt
4 cups flour
1 egg
coarse salt

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees
Cover cook sheet with foil and sprinkle with flour
Soften the yeast in the warm water and add salt and sugar
Add flour and mix well
Place dough on a flat surface that has been covered with cup of flour
Knead until smooth
DO NOT let it rise
Cut immediately into small pieces
Roll into pencil thin ropes and shape into pretzels
Place pretzels on floured cookie sheet and brush with beaten egg
Sprinkle with coarse salt and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until lightly brown
Makes about 20 or 30 large pretzels
