2 cups brown sugar
2 cups water
2 T butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 t Baking powder
1 T butter
1/2 cup dates
Milk to make batter

Put brown sugar, water and 2 T butter in pan and bring to a boil. Stir and cool
Cream butter and sugar. Mix dry ingredients and add to butter and sugar. Add dates and milk to make batter
Pour into brown sugar mixture and bake at 300 for 40-45 minutes
