1/2 cup butter or margarine
2 T white corn syrup
1 cup brown sugar
Texas toast to fill 9 x 13 inch pan
5 eggs
1 scant cup Carnation milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Combine in sauce pan butter, white corn syrup, and brown sugar. Boil for one minute. Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan and put the caramel mixture in the bottom. Slice French Bread about one inch thick or use Texas toast. Put slices close together on top of the caramel sauce. Beat together the eggs, milk, vanilla, and salt. Pour over mixture over the bread.

Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes. When ready to serve, turn your pieces of toast over and the caramel will be on the top.
