1 c sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 c walnuts
1/2 c shortening
2 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup maraschino cherries or pitted fresh cherries
1/4 cup chocolate chips
3 bananas

Preheat oven to 350º
Butter and flour tube pan.

Mix shortening and sugar together. Beat in eggs, vanilla and mashed bananas. Blend in all dry ingredients. Stir in cherries, nuts and chocolate chips. Bake for 40 minutes.
