1 lb. lean bacon
2 medium onions, diced
½ lb mushrooms
2 lbs. ground beef
2 - 16 oz. cans kidney beans with juice
2 - 16 oz. cans tomatoes with juice
1 tsp. sugar
½ tsp. cumin
3 Tbsp. chili powder ( more or less to taste)
1 large can tomato juice

Directions:

Cut bacon into ½ inch pieces; fry. Set aside. Fry ground beef and onions, drain. Add bacon, beans, tomatoes and tomato juice. Heat through, then add seasonings. Simmer and cook for 3 hours. Serve with shredded cheddar cheese, crackers and fresh onions if desired. Enjoy!
