4 c flour
1 1/4 tsp salt
3 tsp baking powder
3 T sugar
2 T shortening
milk -about 1 1/4 cups
oil for frying

Directions:
Directions:
Combine dry ingredients and sugar. Cut in shortening and add enough milk to make a soft dough, just firm enough to roll. Cover bowl and let dough stand for 30-60 minutes. Knead gently and roll 1/4" thick on lightly floured board and cut in diamond-shaped pieces. Heat about 1" oil in pan to 375º. Add a few pieces at a time; turn to brown both sides. Drain on paper toweling. Serve warm with honey.
