On the day you get your starter give it a feeding with the following: 1/2 c sugar, 1 c flour, 1 c milk. Refrigerate.
Day 2—stir about 10x once a day
Day 3—stir
Day 4—stir
Day 5—Put starter in larger bowl. Feed again with ingredients from day 1
Day 6—stir
Day 7—stir
Day 8—stir
Day 9—stir
Day 10—bake.

Cake:
2 c starter
1/2 tsp soda
1 c sugar
2 tsp baking powder
2 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs
2/3 c oil
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 c nuts,
1 c raisins optional

Topping:
1 tbsp flour
1 c brown sugar
1/2 c melted butter
1 tbsp cinnamon.

Starter
Starter may smell like yeast. This is normal. Makes 4 c. Use 2 c in cake. Give one cup away. Use second c to begin process again.

Cake
Mix together. Pour into 9x13 ungreased pan..

Topping
Sprinkle over cake before baking. Bake 350 for 30 min.

This cake has been around a very long time. You can add fruit etc if you like
