1 C quick oatmeal (not instant)
1 pinch of salt
1 pinch of baking soda
2 tsp. of melted butter
hot water

Directions:
Directions:
1. Put the oatmeal in a bowl and add the salt and soda. Make a well in the center and pour in the melted butter. Add enough hot water to make a stiff paste. Knead until smooth.
2. Break dough into 4 or 5 balls. Wet your hands and form the balls into flat, thin patties. Brown both sides on a griddle or in a toaster oven.
3. Serve warm with butter or cream cheese and jam.
