2/3 cup shortening
2 ½ cup flour
1 ¾ cup sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp vanilla
1 ½ cup milk


½ cup butter, melted
1 cup brown sugar
16 oz. can peaches halves, drained

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla and milk. Combine dry ingredients add to batter. Mix well and set aside. Place peach halves face down in a lightly greased 9x13 pan. Melt butter and add brown sugar. Pour over peaches. Pour batter over all. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes. Cool 5 minutes and turn pan over onto a baking sheet. Let cool slightly. Serve with ice cream or cool whip.
