1 cup butter
1 cup butter flavored shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
3 eggs
1 ½ tsp. salt
2 ¼ tsp. Baking soda
3 tsp. real vanilla extract
4 ½ cups flour
1 (3 1/2 oz) pkg. instant vanilla pudding mix
1 pkg. chocolate chips

Cream shortening and butter. Add sugars. Beat in eggs & vanilla. Gradually add remaining dry ingredients. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 14 to 18 minutes. Yield 6 dozen cookies.
