2 c. Cornmeal
4 T. Flour
1 1/4 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Salt
2 Medium Onions, Chopped
Buttermilk
Oil

Directions:
Heat about 2" oil in heavy skillet. Mix dry ingredients together, add enough Buttermilk to make semi-thick batter the consistency of Spoon-bread [not runny]. Drop by Heaping Tablespoons into hot oil. Do not put too many in at once and fry each until browned. Drain on paper toweling.
