Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 1/2 pound finely chopped walnuts
1/2 c sugar
1 pkg phyllo dough
1 lb unsalted butter
Honey

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375. Melt the butter. Carefully take a sheet of phyllo dough and lay it on a cookie sheet, it's ok if it tears just piece it together. With a pastry brush spread butter on the phyllo dough and keep layering butter and dough until you use half of the dough. Mix the nuts and sugar together and spread it all on top of the dough. Drizzle some honey on top of the dough. Layer the rest of the dough and butter on top of the nuts. You might have some butter left over, that's ok. Cut the baklava in squares or diamond shapes BEFORE you put in the oven, if you try to do it after it's baked it will just crumble apart. Bake for about 30 to 45 min or until golden browned. Drizzle more honey on top when it's done. I store it right on the cookie sheet covered with foil or you can put it in an airtight container.

Personal Notes:
The original baklava has a heavy sweet syrup you pour on but this is a lighter version which I like better.
