1 c. sugar
6 eggs
2 c. nuts
1/2 lb. dates
1/4 c. wine
1 c. applesauce
spices to taste
2 c. flour
2 sticks butter (1/2 lb.)
1 lb. raisins
1/2 lb. cherries
1/2 lb. pineapple
grated rind and juice of 1 lemon

Directions:
Directions:
Combine butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour. Add remaining ingredients. Turn into a greased bowl or can that can be set loosely in cooker. Cover bowl with wax paper. Place bowl on rack with water in cooler, cover cooker. Steam for 2 1/2 hours in 300º oven.
