1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tbs. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Vanilla Frosting:
1 tbs. butter
1 3/4 c. confectioners sugar
3 - 4 tbs. light cream
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter thoroughly. Add sugar gradually and when light and fluffy, add egg, vanilla and milk. Beat well. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together and add gradually to creamed mixture. Chill; then roll on lightly floured board to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut as desired. Place on baking sheets. Bake in 350' over from 9 - 12 minutes, according to size.

Frosting:
Add food coloring as desired. Beat butter until very soft or let stand at room temperature until soft. Add sugar, vanilla and cream to butter to make spreading consistency.
