2 Tbs Dry yeast
1 1/2 c milk
2 eggs
1/4 c oil

5 to 6 c flour
2 tsp salt
1/3 cup sugar

Preheat oven to 375º

Soften 2 Tbs Dry yeast in 1 c luke warm water and set aside

Scald 1 1/2 cups milk and cool to luke warm( cooling is important too hot and you will kill the yeast and the bread won't rise)

Combine:
2 c flour
2 tsp salt
1/3 cup sugar
Add cooled milk to the combined mixture. Add dissolved yeast and stir well.

Gradually add 3 to 4 more cups flour to from soft dough and knead lightly. Shape into a ball and place in lightly greased bowl. Cover and let rise to double (about 1 hour)
Punch down and knead slightly on floured surface. Shape into golf-ball size balls and place on greased cookie sheet about two inches apart. Let rise to double (about 45 min)
Bake at 375º for 15 -20 minutes until lightly browned.
Remove from oven and brush with melted butter.

These are best, made the same day they will be served. These are a favorite of my kids, who will happily wrestle anyone for the last roll. This recipe comes from a friend named Rosie Jarvis who is the mother of 8 children and knows her way around the kitchen.
