1/2 c. sliced onion
2 T. butter
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
1 c. catsup
1 c. water
2 T. Worcestershire sauce
2 T. brown sugar
1/8 tsp. pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Cook onion in butter until clear. Add all other ingredients and bring to a boil. Let simmer for about one hour.

FOR BARBECUED CHICKEN: Coat chicken with favorite coating and fry in butter until golden brown. Transfer to casserole dish and cover with sauce. Cover and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour

This recipe was originally to be used for barbecued chicken but, Joyce liked the taste of it so well that she started using it for all kinds of barbecues.
