3/4 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar (packed)
1/2 c. white sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. old fashioned oatmeal (uncooked)
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. raisins
Nuts if desired

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter and sugars in bowl. Add egg and vanilla. Heat water to hot; add raisins. Cool. Add to sugar mixture. Add the rest of the dry ingredients, a little at a time. This will be fairly thick dough. Add chopped nuts if desired. Drop by tablespoons full onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for about 12-15 minutes.
