c. chopped onion
1 lb. ground beef
1 c. rice, uncooked, long-grain
2 tbsp. Crisco
2 small cans tomato paste
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. chili powder
tsp. pepper
2 cans of water (tomato paste can)

Combine Crisco, meat, onions, and rice in skillet.
Brown. Add tomato paste & water. Add pepper, chili pepper, and salt. Stir. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally.

Simmer 45 minutes to 1 hour.
