1 c. sugar
1 c. butter or Crisco
3 eggs
1 t. vanilla
1 t. soda
1 t. cream tarter
Flour, enough to make a soft dough, about 3 cups.

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Cream shorting and sugar until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, soda, and cream tarter and add to mixture. Roll out and cut. Bake on cookie sheet 8-10 minutes until slightly brown at the edges. Cookies can be iced and decorated.

A very simple recipe, but the best sugar cookies ever!
Darrell says that his Nana made the best sugar cookies and apple pie. Grandma writes that this was her Ma's receipe-"my favorite" On her card she has shortening listed.
