4 (6 oz.) fresh tilapia fillets
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
2 tbsp. finely chopped pecans
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/2 cup low-fat buttermilk ***
1/2 tsp hot sauce
3 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. olive oil
4 lemon wedges

*** Buttermilk Substitute - Mix 1/2 cup low-fat milk with 1/2 tsp. lemon juice or vinegar. Let stand for 10 minutes.

Combine the breadcrumbs with the next four ingredients in a shallow dish. Combine the buttermilk and hot sauce in a medium bowl. Put the flour in a shallow dish.

Dredge the fish fillets in the flour, then the buttermilk mixture and finally in the breadcrumb mixture.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the fish about 2 to 3 minutes on each side until flaky, depending on the thickness. Serve with lemon wedges.
