1/2 c. brown sugar
3 Tbsp. cocoa
1 c. boiling water
1 c. flour

2 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Stir together the first four ingredients in an ungreased 8" pan (I use a round cake pan) until all has dissolved. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, sugar, cocoa, and baking powder. To the sifted ingredients, add and mix thoroughly the milk, melted butter, vanilla and chopped nuts. Place this mixture in the pan on top of the first mixture. Spread evenly. Bake 35-40 minutes or until cake leaves the side of the pan. Cool just a little. Invert onto a serving dish. Serve warm or cold with whipping cream or ice cream.
