5 peeled, cored and thinly sliced apples (not green) set aside
1 and 3/4 cups white sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Mix salt, flour, baking soda, and cinnamon and set aside. Mix sugar, vegetable oil, vanilla and eggs and then add the flour mixture; then add apples and walnuts. Pour into greased, floured 9x13 glass baking pan. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes at least (check to see when done). When the cake is cooled, dust the top with powdered sugar.
