1 lb. butter
1 cup sugar
4 cups sifted flour - may need more
4 tsp. corn starch

Directions:
Directions:
In a bowl knead butter and sugar with fingers; knead in cornstarch and 2 cups of flour. Add remaining flour one cup at a time. Remove from bowl and knead on floured board until well mixed. Press dough into a sheet pan and score with a knife. Cut when they come out of the oven. You may also use cookier cutters to make round or other shaped cookies. Bake in a slow oven at 350º till done.

This recipe was given to me by a friend who was born in Scotland. I have also rolled it in sesame seeds to make gigilani and it was great!
