1 cup plain flour
2/3 cup of sugar
1 1/2 tsp of baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk

Sauce Ingredients
1 cup of brown sugar
1 1/2 cups of boiling water
1 tbsp of butter

Sift flour,sugar,baking powder and salt together. Stir in milk, spread this into a greased casserole dish approx 23cm in diameter.

Sauce Method
Heat water, sugar and butter until sugar is dissolved. Carefully pour over batter and bake in a pre heated oven at 180 for 30-40mins. Batter will rise as sauce drops down.

Spoon into bowls and serve with cream or ice cream.
