3/4 cup flour
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup cocoa powder, divided use
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup milk
3 T. vegetable oil
1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts (optional)
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/4 cups very hot water
1 1/2 pints vanilla ice cream

Pre-heat oven to 350. Place flour, sugar, 1/4 cup cocoa, baking powder and salt into an ungreased 8x8 pan. Stir with fork, mixing well. Stir in milk and oil until well-blended. Stir in nuts. Sprinkle brown sugar, remaining cocoa and chocolate chips over batter. Pour hot water over everything. Bake 30-35 minutes until surface looks dry and cracked. Cool 10 minutes and serve with ice cream.
