1/2 c. butter
1 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
4 egg yolks
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla

4 egg whites, beaten stiff
1 c. sugar
Nuts

Filling:
1 egg
3 T. brown sugar
1 T. corn starch
1 c. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar, add yolks one at a time. Sift flour and baking powder and add alternately with the milk. Add vanilla. Divide batter into two pans and put the following on top:

Beat egg whites stiff. Add 1 c. sugar. Beat again and sprinkle with nuts.
Bake for 30 minutes at 325º.

Filling:
1 egg, brown sugar, corn starch, sour cream, vanilla. Boil until thick and add nuts.
Spread filling between cake layers.
