6 oz Jello Americana Golden Egg Custard Mix, or similar mix
milk, as called for by custard instructions, or a little less for thicker
3 cups mixed sliced fruits OR
sugar, to taste (for fresh fruit)
1 can cherry pie filling
5 3/4" slices pound or sponge cake, cut into pieces
1 1/2 cups whipped topping, thawed

Follow directions for preparing custard; cool. Sweeten fresh fruit to taste, stir well and set aside. Place cake pieces on bottom of a large bowl. Drain fresh fruit & sprinkle cake with the juice, then add fruit (or pie filling) on top. Fold whipped topping into custard and spoon over fruit. Makes about twenty 1/2 cup servings.
