Thinly sliced onions (optional)
Whipping cream
Salt and pepper - to taste, if desired

Layer potatoes and separated onion ring slices in baking dish, sprinkling with salt and pepper, if desired. Using equal parts of whipping cream and water, pour over potatoes, covering about 2/3 depth of potatoes. Bake, uncovered at for 350 for about 1 hour or until done.
