4 c. peeled and sliced apples
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. chopped pecans

Sauce topping
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1/2 c. heavy cream or evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Pre heat oven to 350º. In a large mixing bowl stir together apples and sugar. Add dry ingredients; stir well In a separate bowl, beat eggs, oil and vanilla. Stir egg mixture into apple mixture, blending until moistened. Stir in pecans. Pour into greased 9 x 13 x 2 in. pan. Bake 50 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly pressed. Serve with warm apple dessert sauce.

Directions for Sauce
Place all ingredients in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil (medium heat). Stir continuously and cook for 3 minutes. Serve warm
