2 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
3 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 cup shortening
2/3 cup water
2 eggs
Vanilla
1/3 cup water

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, sugar, salt, soda and cocoa together, add shortening and 2/3 cup water and beat for 2 minutes. Add 2 eggs, unbeaten, vanilla and 1/3 up water. Beat 2 more minutes. Bake in 9x13 pan for 30 - 35 minutes at 350.

Before I had a mixer and had wanted chocolate cake, I said if you stir we can make it. He had to count how many times he went around the bowl. 150 times for 2 minutes. Remember Rod?? This as at 400 West 7th Street.
