1 c. sugar
1/4 c. corn starch
2 c. milk
1 stick oleo
1 tsp. vanilla
pinch salt
nutmeg
1 baked pie shell

Directions:
Add all of the ingredients except the nutmeg in a medium sauce pan and bring to a broil stirring constantly. When sugar cream pie filling becomes thick, pour into a 9 inch baked pie shell. Sprinkle nutmeg on top. Allow pie to set-up then serve.

This pie was passed down to me from my mother-in-law, Hazel Wonn. I just learned that this pie is the official Indiana state pie!
