1 c. butter or marg.
1 3/4 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 can Cherry pie filling (can also use Blueberry or Strawberrry pie filling)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add the flour, baking powder, and salt; stir together. Spread 2/3 of batter in a greased 10 x 15 pan. Spoon the pie filling over top of batter in pan, distributing cherries evenly. Drop by small amounts the remaining batter over top of the cherry filling. Bake at 350º for 30 - 35 minutes or till tests done. Cool. Drizzle a powder sugar glaze over the bars or sprinkle with powder sugar while still warm.
For glaze just mix a small amount of powder sugar, a sprinkle of salt, vanilla and water to make a frosting thin enough to drizzle.
