2 tsp lemon juice
1/2 cup milk
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp lemon zest



GLAZE:
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice

Directions:
Directions:
COOKIES: stir lemon juice into milk; set aside. Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Beat butter for 30 seconds, add 3/4 cup sugar and beat until fluffy. Add egg and lemon zest; beat well. Add dry ingredients and milk mixture alternately to beaten mixture, beating well after each addition. Drop from a teaspoon 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet or parchment paper. Bake at 350º for 12-14 minutes. Remove at once to a wire rack, brush with glaze.

GLAZE: stir together sugar and lemon juice. Makes 48 cookies.
