1 c. water
2 c. raisins
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans
4 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. allspice

Directions:
Directions:
Boil water and raisins 5 minutes. Cool. Cream shortening and add sugar and eggs; beat well. Add vanilla to cooled raisin mixture. nuts. Sift flour with other ingredients. Add to raisin mixture. Chill before baking. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
