1 pkg yeast
2 T really warm water (not hot)
5 cups of flour (approx)
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
4 Tbsp sugar
1 cup shortening
2 cups buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Stir the yeast into the warm water to dissolve and set aside.
Mix together all the dry ingredients. Cut shortening into the dry ingreditent. Add the yeast & water mixture. Stir. Add the buttermilk. Stir. Knead dough until it holds together. Roll dough to 1/2 - 3/4" thick and cut with biscuit cutter. Bake at 400 degrees until lightly golden on top - about 10-15 minutes, depending on your oven.

This dough may be refrigerated and used later. I cut mine and place four in each baggie and keep in refrigerator to make fresh with each meal.
