3 cups flour
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup softened butter(salted or unsalted)
3/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons rum
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325º.
2. Cream butter, egg, vanilla, and rum.
3. Gradually add dry ingredients and mix well.
4. Shape into long rolls and cut into 3" lengths.
5. Place on ungreased cookie sheets, and bake on the center oven rack for 12-15 minutes until the bottoms are a light golden brown.
6. Cool, frost with cream cheese frosting, and sprinkle with nutmeg.

Rum Frosting Recipe

Cream together 3 tablespoons butter, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, and 1 teaspoon rum.
Blend 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar, beating well.
Add 2 cups of confectioners' sugar alternately with 2 or 3 tablespoons milk or cream, and beat all ingredients well.

Cream cheese frosting is also good on these Nutmeg Logs.
