2/3 cup butter flavored Crisco
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 1/4 cups flour
3 eggs
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350º

Cream shortening with sugars. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well. Add dry ingredients. Mix in chocolate chips and nuts. Spread in a 10 x15 jelly roll pan. Bake for 25 minutes.

This is a recipe we got from friends when we lived in Kansas. I usually leave out the nuts and put in a whole bag (2 cups) of chocolate chips. I also put them in a 10x13 pan and don't overbake them.
