Directions:
Place angel food cake pieces into the bottom of a 9x13 glass pan. Put softened cream cheese into a large mixing bowl; cream until smooth. Add sugar and vanilla; cream again and slowly add the milk. Cream until well mixed making sure there are no lumps. Fold in the Cool Whip topping until mixture is thick. Pour over the cake pieces in the pan until all is mixed throughout. Finally, spoon the cherry pie filling over the Cool Whip mixture, one spoon at a time. Using a long-handled spoon swirl the cherry pie filling, all the way to the bottom of the cake dish, until all the pie filling is mixed through the entire cake. Make sure that the cherries are all over the entire cake, and that every area has filling. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight to chill thoroughly.
Note: This cake travels well and is very refreshing.
