2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons cocoa (no lumps!)

In a separate bowl, combine:

2 eggs
½ c. buttermilk (or ½ cup milk with ½ teaspoon vinegar added)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Frosting

1 stick margarine
6 tbsp. milk
4 tbsp. cocoa (no lumps!)
Chopped nuts, if desired.

Bring 1 cup of water and 2 sticks of margarine to a boil. Pour margarine mixture and egg mixture into dry ingredients and mix well. Pour into greased 10” x 15” cookie sheet (with sides) or jelly roll pan and bake for 20 minutes in 350º oven.

Frosting

Bring the above to a boil, stirring constantly. Beat in 1 lb. powdered sugar and spread on cake. Can top with chopped nuts, if desired.
