1 egg beaten
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. melted butter or Margarine
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. soda

1/2 lb. pitted dates
1/4 c. sugar
1/3 c, water
1/4 tsp. salt

Cook until soft
Add 1/4 c. chopped pecans or walnuts

Mix and roll out dough to 1/4" thickness.
Cover dough with filling and roll in waxed paper. Chill
Cut into 1/4' slices and place on lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake 8 - 10 mins. at 350.
