¾ c, shortening
1 c. sugar
¼ c. molasses
1 egg
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
½ tsp. cloves
½ tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. salt
Directions:
Directions:
Melt shortening in a 3 or 4 quart saucepan over slow heat, remove from heat and let cool. Add sugar, molasses, egg and beat well. Sift flour, baking soda, cloves, ginger, cinnamon and salt then add to first mixture mixing well. Form in one inch balls, roll in granulated sugar and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375º for 8 to 10 min.
